The biphasic effect of soy isoflavones (genistein and daidzein) on oestrogen receptor (ER)α+ breast cancer cell proliferation is well documented, with concentrations of ≤10 µM promoting proliferation, and growth inhibitory and apoptotic effects seen at concentrations ≥10 µM.
